Modifying the maximum bandwidth
You can modify the maximum bandwidth of an Elastic IP Address (EIP) at any time according to your needs. The new bandwidth takes effect immediately after modification.
Normal modification
Normal modification means regularly modifying the maximum bandwidth of the EIP; the change takes effect immediately.
Instructions
- Reducing the maximum bandwidth may affect business traffic and cause packet loss. Evaluate the possible impacts on your business carefully and proceed with caution.
- Billing conversion requires the sum of your account's available balance and coupons applicable to the EIP to be at least CNY 100.00, with the available balance not less than 0. For detailed steps, see the Recharge guide.
Procedure
- In the top menu bar, select the region and project of your target EIP.
- Follow the steps below to modify the maximum bandwidth for a Pay-as-you-go/Subscription EIP:
Pay-as-you-go EIP
Subscription EIP
- In the EIP list, click ··· > Change configuration to the right of the target EIP.
- Select a metering method as needed for billing conversion.
- Modify the maximum bandwidth as needed.
- Follow the console guidance to review and confirm the legal terms.
- Click Buy now to complete the action.
- In the EIP list, click ··· > Modify bandwidth to the right of the target EIP.
- Modify the maximum bandwidth as needed.
- Follow the console guidance to review and confirm the legal terms, then click Buy now.
- Click Next, select a payment method, then click Pay to complete payment according to the chosen method.
Temporary upgrade
Temporary upgrade lets you temporarily increase the maximum bandwidth of an EIP within a specified period. After this period ends (at the restore time), the bandwidth cap automatically reverts to its original value.
Instructions
After the temporary upgrade expires, automatically restoring the bandwidth limit may affect business traffic and cause packet loss. Fully assess potential impacts on your business and proceed with caution.
Limits
- Only subscription EIPs support temporary upgrades, and the restore time must be before the expiration time.
- The shortest temporary upgrade duration is 1 hour, the longest is 30 days, and the minimum granularity for upgrade duration is 1 hour.
- If an EIP is in a temporary upgrade, the new bandwidth cap for a subsequent temporary upgrade must not be less than the current cap. The new restore time must be later than the current temporary upgrade's restore time.
- The subscription EIP with security ban does not support temporary upgrades.
Procedure
- In the top menu bar, select the region and project of the target EIP.
- In the EIP list, click ··· > Temporary Upgrade to the right of the target EIP.
- Select the maximum bandwidth as needed.
- Set the restore time as needed, and view the effective period.
tip
After submitting the order, pay promptly. The actual restore time for the instance depends on the payment time of the order. Actual restore time = payment time + effective duration.
- Follow the console guidance to review and confirm the legal terms.
- Click Next, select a billing method, then click Pay to complete the payment.
