Request structure

This article introduces how to call the Volcano Engine E-MapReduce (EMR) OpenAPI.

Request structure

To call the Volcano Engine OpenAPI interface, the client sends a request to the specified service address and must include both the Volcano Engine signature information and the business information required by the specific interface. The request structure of the Volcano Engine OpenAPI is organized as follows, using an unencoded URL GetCluster sample request:

POST /?Action=GetCluster&Version=2024-03-25&<接口请求参数> HTTP/1.1
Host: emr-serverless.cn-beijing.volcengineapi.com
Region: cn-beijing
Service: emr_serverless
  • POST indicates the request method.
  • Action=GetCluster specifies the API to be called, and Version=2024-03-25 is the API version.
  • Host specifies the Volcano Engine service access address (Endpoint). For details, see Service address.
  • Region and Service are the region and service name for the request. For details, see Public Parameters.
  • HTTP specifies the request communication protocol.

Communication protocol

Volcano Engine EMR OpenAPI supports request communication via HTTP or HTTPS. It is recommended to use the more secure HTTPS method to send requests.

Request method

For details on the request method, refer to the specific requirements of each interface.

warning

The Action and Version in public parameters must be placed in the query string.

Request parameters

Volcano Engine EMR OpenAPI request parameters include two types of parameters:

  • Public request parameters: These must be included in every request. For details, see Public parameters.
  • Interface request parameters: Refer to the interface documentation for each service for interface request parameters.

Character encoding

Requests and returned results use the UTF-8 character set for encoding.
