Data consistency validation
Semi-managed mode in DMS 2.0 ensures data consistency by validating objects This article explains data validation methods in semi-managed mode for DMS 2.0 and how to view validation results
No additional configuration is required when migrating data in semi-managed mode; DMS performs CRC64 validation on files by default to ensure data consistency DMS calculates a CRC64 value for each retrieved file After files are uploaded to TOS, TOS generates a CRC64 value for each file and returns it to DMS DMS verifies the CRC64 value it generates against the value returned by TOS, ensuring consistency between the data retrieved by DMS and that stored at the destination
If CRC64 validation fails, err_msg in the migration report will show failed. If CRC64 validation is successful, err_msg will be empty For a detailed introduction to migration reports, see View Migration Report. tip
After the migration task is completed, be sure to verify the data consistency on the destination side to ensure data integrity. If you delete the source data before verifying the migrated data on the destination side, it may result in data loss. You are solely responsible for any losses and consequences arising from this action.
