Restart instance
The Volcano Engine message queue for RabbitMQ supports restarting RabbitMQ instances. This topic describes how to restart an instance through the console.
Prerequisites
The RabbitMQ instance is Running with no ongoing background tasks.
Note
  • During the RabbitMQ instance restart, the RabbitMQ cluster will reject message production from producers and message consumption from consumers. Please schedule the operation during the planned maintenance time.
  • If you use mirror queues, ensure that data replicas are synchronized in real time. Because mirror queues may present potential risks, synchronization may fail during the restart process. In such cases, manual intervention is required to re-sync.
  • The instance loads historical queue data indexes on startup. If there are too many historical queues, this may lead to increased memory usage. It is recommended to promptly remove queues that are no longer in use. You can also configure queue TTL to automatically reclaim inactive queues. For specific steps, see Configure Queue TTL.
Operation steps
  1. On the Instances page, click Restart in the Actions column of the target instance.
  1. In the pop-up dialog, confirm the name and ID of the instance to restart, then click OK.
tip
Restarting the RabbitMQ instance takes about 1 to 5 minutes. During restart, the RabbitMQ instance status shows Restarting. After a successful restart, the status returns to Running.
