Billing
Overview
Overview
This topic introduces the billing methods, instance life cycle, and price-related instructions supported by RDS for PostgreSQL.
Billing method
Instance life cycle
The billing method determines how the instance life cycle of a PostgreSQL instance is calculated, where:
- Pay-as-you-go: The instance life cycle starts counting after you successfully create it and stops when you release the instance.
- Subscription: The instance life cycle starts counting after you successfully create it, and the instance is automatically released when expired.
Taxes and invoices
- Unless otherwise stated, product or service prices on the Volcano Engine platform include VAT. If national tax policies adjust during service provision or product usage, causing a change in the VAT rate, the applicable VAT rate will adjust accordingly while the pre-tax price remains unchanged.
- We support issuing VAT invoices matching the order amount successfully purchased or billed in your Volcano Engine account. You can apply for VAT invoices via the Invoice management in the Volcano Engine console or other channels we designate and notify timely. We will issue your VAT invoice promptly after receiving your request. If the service rules corresponding to the services you use differ from this agreement or if there are other agreements between both parties, those specific service rules or other mutually agreed terms and conditions shall apply. For periodic billing services and specific usage, the company reserves the right to require users to provide credit certification, prepayments, deposits, or other activation and subscription conditions deemed necessary by the company.
- We will issue you a VAT invoice according to the specific product or service type you purchased as follows:
