Billing

Billing method

This article introduces the billing method and related information of SSL certificates.

Billing method

SSL certificates provided by VolcanoEngine Certificate Center are billed in advance. You need to first pay for the SSL certificate in the VolcanoEngine Certificate Center console, and then submit the certificate request to the CA.

The price of SSL certificates depends on the brand and specifications of the certificate. VolcanoEngine Certificate Center provides SSL certificates of different brands and specifications for you to choose from. For details, please refer to SSL certificate pricing.

SSL Certificate Pricing

The table below lists the prices of SSL certificates with different brands and types available from the Certificate Center.

Certificate brand: The brand of the issuing CA.

Certificate specification: Includes the certificate type, domain type, and certificate standard.

Certificate type: Includes DV (Domain Validated), OV (Organization Validated), and EV (Extended Validation).

Domain type: The type of domain protected by the certificate. Domain type includes single domain and wildcard domain.

A single domain certificate can only protect one specific domain name (FQDN) or IP. For example, example.com, abc.example.com, and 1.XX.xx.1.

A wildcard domain certificate can protect a wildcard domain. For example, *.example.com.

A wildcard domain can match all subdomains at the next level. For example, *.example.com can match a.example.com, b.example.com, etc., but not a.b.example.com.

Certificate standards include RSA/ECC and SM standards.

Certificates with specifications that do not include "SM" use the RSA/ECC standard, and certificates with specifications that do include "SM" use the SM standard.

Taxes and Invoices

Unless otherwise stated, all prices for products or services on the VolcanoEngine platform are inclusive of Value-Added Tax (VAT). During the provision of services or your use of products, if the VAT rate changes due to adjustments in national tax policies, the VAT rate of products and services on VolcanoEngine will be adjusted accordingly, while the pre-tax price remains unchanged.

We issue VAT invoices for the amounts of your successful orders and/or issued bills on your VolcanoEngine account. Invoicing is not available for unused prepaid balances. If a refund is involved, you are required to cooperate with us to process a credit invoice, if applicable. You may apply for VAT invoices via the VolcanoEngine console -> Billing center -> Invoice management, or through other channels designated and notified by VolcanoEngine from time to time. We will issue the VAT invoices promptly upon receipt of your application. If the specific rules for a service you use differ from the terms herein, or if both parties have otherwise agreed, those specific service rules or separately agreed terms and conditions shall prevail. If a service and its usage are billed periodically, we reserve the right to ask you to provide a credit certificate, prepayment, a deposit, or meet other conditions we deem necessary for service activation and subscription.

We will issue VAT invoices to you based on the products or services you purchase. See the following table for the invoice information:

Product/service name	Product/Service Delivery Method	Service/Authorization period	Invoice content	Tax rate
SSL certificate product/service	API/Online IaaS	As per the period displayed on the order page	Information Technology Service Technical Service Fee	6%
