When a virtual warehouse is no longer needed, you can choose to delete the virtual warehouse. This action will suspend all running queries, and remove the virtual warehouse from the list of available virtual warehouses.

Prerequisites #

Before performing the delete operation, confirm that your current account has obtained ALL privilege.
You can view virtual warehouse privileges via ByteHouse Console > **Access control **> User > Username > Resource privilegesPath, and view virtual warehouse privileges. To obtain parameter edit permission for the virtual warehouse, contact the system administrator for configuration.

Important notes #

• If the virtual warehouse to be deleted is bound as the default write virtual warehouse, please first switch or reconfigure the default write virtual warehouse according to the interface prompt, then perform the delete operation.
• Deleting a virtual warehouse involves changes in billing. You can refer to Compute Group UnsubscriptionLearn more.

Delete annual or monthly subscription virtual warehouse #

When unsubscribing an annual or monthly subscription virtual warehouse, if there are elastic resources for the virtual warehouse, the system will delete the elastic resources after the base resources of the virtual warehouse are successfully unsubscribed.

1. Log in to ByteHouse Console, under the virtual warehouse tab, in the Actions column of the virtual warehouse list, click the ... button, click Unsubscribe, and the system will automatically redirect to the BytePlus unsubscribe page.
2. After confirming that the unsubscribe information is correct, click Confirm Unsubscribe to delete the virtual warehouse.

Delete pay-as-you-go virtual warehouse #

When deleting a virtual warehouse, if there are elastic resources for the virtual warehouse, the system will delete both the base resources and the elastic resources.

1. Log in to ByteHouse Console, under the virtual warehouse tab, click the Delete button in the Actions column of the virtual warehouse list.
2. After confirming again in the pop-up confirmation box, the virtual warehouse can be deleted.
