Background task management

Operations such as changing instance configurations run in the background. You can view the status, start time, end time, and other information of background tasks on the Background task management tab of the Kafka instance.

Note

Important instance operations that are not completed immediately, such as changing instance configurations, are displayed as background tasks in the Task management tab. Real time actions, like modifying the instance description, are not recorded in background tasks.

If a task status shows Execution failed, check the error details in the task details column. If the status remains Running for a long time, contact technical support for troubleshooting.

Operation steps

Select the region where the instance is located on the top menu bar.

Click the specified instance name on the Instances page.

Click Background task management on the top tab bar.

Under the Background task Management tab, you can view all background tasks for the current instance.

Filter tasks. You can filter background tasks by task time, task type, and task source.

Filter by task time: select the task start and end dates at the top of the list. Tasks that overlap with this period show in the results.

Filter by task type: Click the filter icon near Type. Select the background task type you want to view, such as Instance configuration modification, and click Apply to view the list of tasks of the specified type.

Filter by task source: Click the filter icon in the Task source column, and then select the task source you want to view, such as Open API call or console actions. Finally, click Apply to view the list of tasks from the specified source.

Background task list

By default, the Backgroun task management tab displays all background tasks for the current instance. You can filter tasks by task time, type, and task source. The background task list shows the task ID, type, status, details, source, execution start time, and execution end time.
