Restart instance
The VolcanoEngine Message Queue for Kafka supports restarting Kafka instances. This section describes the steps to restart an instance through the console.
The Kafka instance is running with no ongoing background tasks.
- Restarting an instance will immediately trigger a rolling restart, which may cause a brief service interruption.
- We recommend that you perform this action during a scheduled maintenance period and implement a reconnection mechanism on the client side. This helps to ensure an automatic reconnection upon client disconnection.
- Find the target instance on the Instances page.
- Select ... in the Actions column for the target instance. > Restart instance.
- You can also click the instance name, then click Restart instance In the upper right corner of the Instance details page.
- In the prompt, confirm the name and ID of the instance to restart, then click Restart.
tip
Restarting a Kafka instance takes about 5 to 20 minutes. During the restart, the Kafka instance status shows Restarting. After success, the Kafka instance status returns to Running.
