View topic details
After creating a Topic, you can view detailed information about the Topic on the console as you need. You can also view the details of its partitions, including topic details, partition information, and consumer connection details.
Prerequisites
A Message Queue for Kafka instance and a Topic are created. For detailed steps, refer to Create instance and Create topic.
View topic details
  1. Select the region where the instance is located on the top menu bar.
  1. Click the specified instance name on the Instances page.
  1. Click Topic management on the tab bar.
  1. Find the target Topic and view its basic information.
  • If the number of topics is large, we recommend that you search by topic name in the top right corner or filter by Topic tags. The topic list mainly displays topic name, status, number of partitions, number of replicas, message retention period, data volume, description, tags, and creation time.
  1. Click the topic name to view detailed information for all partitions within the Topic.
Data description
Topic details
The Topic details tab displays basic information, parameter configuration, and running status of the Topic. If you need to adjust the topic's parameter configuration, click Modify in the Parameter configuration section.
tip
The actual effective configurations in the instance, such as Message retention period, are based on the parameter settings of each Topic. The parameter configuration at the instance level determines the default parameter values for each instance. After modifying the instance parameter configuration, the default parameter values for newly created Topics are determined by the instance's parameter configuration.

Basic information
Topic name
The name of the topic.

Description
Brief description of the Topic

Creation time
Topic creation time.
Parameter configuration
Number of partitions
Number of partitions in the Topic.

Number of replicas
Number of replicas for the topic partition. Displays data backup on the corresponding number of replicas.

Minimum number of in-sync replicas
Minimum number of synchronous replicas for the topic. The larger this value, the better the data reliability. However, the availability will decrease.

Message retention period
Maximum retention period for messages in this topic, i.e., message storage time.
Consumers must consume messages before this time expires. Otherwise, the messages will be deleted and can not be consumed.

Maximum message size
The maximum message size in this topic.

Message cleanup policy
Cleanup policy for messages in this topic.
Running status
Data volume
Total storage space used by this topic instance and its percentage.

Partition information
The partition information tab displays detailed information for all partitions of this topic. You can also search partitions by partition number in this tab.

Display items
Description
Partition number
Partition number.
Leader
The leader handles all read and write requests for the partition. Follower passively and regularly replicates data from the leader.
Replica
Replica list
ISR
Copies of synchronized messages.
Unsynchronized replicas
Number of unsynchronized copies. Supports filtering partitions with unsynchronized copies.
Start offset
Start offset of message writing.
End offset
The last position where the message is written.
Number of stored messages
The number of messages stored in this partition.

Consumer connection information
The consumer connection information tab displays all group connection information for the current topic. You can also filter groups by group ID.

Display items
Description
Group ID
Group ID that consumes this topic.
Status
Status of the group For each status description, refer to Group status description.
Protocol type
The consumption protocol type that is specified by consumer group
  • If you choose the standard Kafka consumption protocol, it will display as consumer.
  • If you choose other protocol types, it will display the corresponding protocol name. For example, the type shows as connect when accessing via Kafka-Connector.
  • If you use consumption method that can customize partition, this field is empty.
Balancing algorithm
The algorithm used to assign partitions to consumers. It is specified by the consumer client.
If you use consumption method that can customize partition, this field is empty.
