Subscription, also known as prepaid, is a payment method for Volcano Engine E-MapReduce (EMR) clusters where you pay for resources before use. This method is suitable for use cases where computing and storage resources are relatively fixed. The minimum purchase duration for an EMR subscription is one month.
The EMR subscription billing cycle is based on the purchased duration (in UTC+8). The start of a billing cycle is the time when the resource is activated (accurate to the second), and the end is 23:59:59 on the expiration date. For example, if you purchase one month at 00:00:00 on 2022-04-10, the expiration time is 23:59:59 on 2022-05-09. If you purchase after 00:00:01 on 2022-04-10 (not at midnight), the expiration time is 23:59:59 on 2022-05-10.
The payment type selected when creating an EMR cluster is directly associated with and identical to the payment type of the underlying resources (ECS, Elastic Block Storage, and Public IP).
There is no concept of overdue payments for subscription clusters. If your account has an outstanding balance, you can continue to use EMR clusters that have been purchased and are not yet expired.
However, to expand node disk capacity or change ECS configurations, you must settle any outstanding account balance before performing these operations.
For details, see Overdue payments.
For details on resource changes after a subscription cluster expires, see Expiration note.
During the use of Volcano Engine E-MapReduce (EMR), if you have questions about EMR charges, you can view the billing statement and consumption details through Expense Center. For details, see Bill management .
