Volcano Engine E-MapReduce (EMR) clusters provide the billing by volumeconvert billingSubscription feature, making it easy to convert temporary Pay-As-You-Go clusters into long-term, stable Subscription clusters. This allows you to reserve resources in advance and maximize cost savings.
This article introduces the procedure for converting Pay-As-You-Go clusters to Subscription clusters in the EMR console.

Prerequisites #

The Pay-As-You-Go cluster to be converted must meet the following conditions:

• The ECS instances in the nodes must not be instance types that have been discontinued.
• The cluster status must be Running.
• The cluster must be purchased via billing by volume method.
• The account must have no outstanding payments. If the account has outstanding payments, you must pay the balance first and initiate the conversion when the cluster status is Running.

Limits #

• If the user has outstanding payments, Subscription conversion cannot be performed. Please click Go to recharge, complete recharge, settle the bill, and then try the operation again.
• After converting a Pay-As-You-Go cluster to a Subscription cluster, the Subscription cluster cannot be converted back to a Pay-As-You-Go cluster. Operate with caution to avoid unnecessary costs.

Procedure #

1. Log in to EMR console .
2. In the left navigation bar, click Resource Management > on ECS to enter the cluster list page.
3. Identify the target Pay-As-You-Go cluster, click the operation bar ... button, and select Subcontract month by volume from the dropdown menu.
4. On the Pay-As-You-Go to Subscription page, perform the conversion as needed.
   • The Task node group can be converted as needed.
   • Select the conversion duration and check the agreement "I agree to the E-MapReduce Service Terms".
5. Click the Confirm button to complete the payment and billing method conversion.
