Overview
This topic introduces the resources that can be managed and used through Terraform for RDS for MySQL.
About Terraform
Terraform is an open-source IT infrastructure automation and orchestration tool used to efficiently configure and manage basic cloud resources. Based on open-source Terraform, Volcano Engine provides developer tools for securely and efficiently previewing, configuring, and managing cloud infrastructure and resources. For more information, refer to Terraform.
Advantages of Terraform
  • Infrastructure as code: Describe resources through an advanced configuration syntax, so that infrastructure can be codified. By controlling the resource versions defined in Terraform, cloud resources can be controlled, managed, and traced.
  • Automated management of infrastructure architecture: Terraform configuration templates support configuration planning and automatic execution, and save infrastructure resource states to prevent the tedium and errors of manual actions.
  • Reduced handover costs: By using Terraform, you can facilitate the handover of O&M tasks, reducing problems such as information loss and wasted cloud resources that are caused by work handovers.
