Knowledge Graph

The Subject Knowledge Graph in the knowledge base visualizes logical relationships between knowledge items (such as conceptual hierarchy, attribute associations, and causal links) to enable structured knowledge and deep mining. It is suitable for scenarios requiring clarification of complex knowledge associations and efficient location of related information, especially for cross-domain knowledge integration, complex problem root cause analysis, and intelligent recommendation of related knowledge. Typically, you can use the knowledge graph to view relationships between knowledge items, perform recall tests and Q&A, and optimize answer accuracy. This article introduces how to create and use the Subject Knowledge Graph in the enterprise knowledge engine.

Building the Knowledge Graph
  1. Go to the Enterprise Knowledge Engine console, and click Knowledge Management > Knowledge Graph in the top navigation bar.

  2. Click the plus icon, Create Subject Graph, fill in the relevant parameters, and click Save.

    Parameters

    Parameter Description

    Graph Name

    Enter the graph name

    describe

    Please enter the graph Description, within 200 characters.

    Associate Knowledge Base

    Select the knowledge base to associate with the graph; the graph will be constructed based on this knowledge base.

    Entity Types to Extract

    All are selected by default. You may Delete unnecessary entity types as needed to adapt to different business scenarios.

    • Entity: The Subject knowledge graph is the core modeling component of the enterprise knowledge engine, centered on business Subject. It abstracts information from multi-source data such as documents and databases (e.g., attributes, events, relationships) into 'entities', and establishes associations between entities (such as affiliation, similarity, causality), forming a structured, graph-shaped knowledge network. Its core is to break the traditional document-centric knowledge management model, focusing on business Subject such as customers, products, and employees, to achieve centralized management and integrated association of knowledge.
    • Entity Types: The entity types currently supported by the Subject knowledge graph cover core enterprise business scenarios, mainly including:
      • Organization/Person **** (organization): such as customers, employees, suppliers, partners, etc.;
      • Geographical Location (geo): such as office locations, warehousing centers, sales areas, etc.;
      • Event (event): such as product launches, customer complaints, project milestones, etc.;
      • Category (category): such as knowledge base classifications, product feature catalogs, process nodes, etc.;
      • Business Object (person): such as investment products (stocks, funds), goods, technical solutions, etc.

    Knowledge Graph Construction Strategy

    You can choose to update the graph in full or incrementally.

    • Full Update: When knowledge in the knowledge base is updated, the knowledge graph will be completely reconstructed, overwriting the original graph. Applicable to initial database construction, scenarios with extremely high consistency requirements, and low update frequency.
    • Incremental Update: When knowledge in the knowledge base is updated, the knowledge graph will detect changes based on the original graph and update newly added, Edit, or Delete knowledge. Applicable to scenarios with frequent data changes and requiring real-time response.
  3. After creation, click Build Knowledge Graph. The graph will start building. You can monitor progress via the build status.

  4. Once the build is complete, you can view the knowledge graph for this knowledge base.

Viewing the Knowledge Graph

The first search box in the knowledge graph filters information containing keywords, while the second search box further locates specific entity nodes within the filtered results. This facilitates users in searching for and confirming modeling results, conducting recall tests, and optimization tasks.

Edit Knowledge Graph
  • Click a node in the graph to display its properties. You can click the Edit button for Description or Entity ID to modify the content of these properties.
  • Click Edit Subject Graph in the upper right corner to modify relevant information for this knowledge graph.
