Creating a Global Direct Exchange Gateway
Scenarios
Before using Global Direct Exchange Gateway (DXGW) to implement various interconnection networking scenarios, you must create a DXGW instance first.
Before you begin
Complete VolcanoEngine account registration and real-name authentication.
Procedure
  1. Click Create Direct Exchange Gateway.
  1. Configure basic information for the DXGW.
  •
    Parameter
    Description
    Example
    Name
Set the name for the DXGW.
    dxgw-01
    Interconnection type
Select the interconnection type for the DXGW.
    • Layer 2 interconnection: Used to build a direct dedicated network between on-premises data centers (IDCs). Traffic does not need to be relayed across regions.
    tip
Layer 2 Interconnection is in the invite-only beta stage. To request a trial, please contact your account manager.
    • Layer 3 interconnection: Allows IDCs to directly connect to cloud-based Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) resources in each region via the nearest access point. It supports various disaster recovery scenarios, including primary-backup redundancy and load redundancy. With the Site Interconnection feature enabled, routes can be propagated between sites through Virtual Interfaces, allowing IDCs to communicate with each other.
    Layer 3 interconnection
    ASN
Set the ASN (Autonomous System Number) for the DXGW. Configure it only when the interconnection type is Layer 3 interconnection.
    • The valid range for DXGW ASN is: 137718, 64512 to 65534, and 4200000000 to 4294967294, where 137718 is the ASN of VolcanoEngine.
    • Each DXGW ASN must be unique.
    64512
    Agreement
Follow the console guidance to review and accept the legal terms.
    Check

  1. Click OK to complete the action.
What to do next
After the DXGW is created successfully, proceed with the following steps based on your business scenario:
  • Hybrid cloud networking:
  • Associate a VPC: Connect a VPC to DXGW so that an IDC can access VPC resources.
  • (Optional) Enable site interconnection: For cross-region direct connectivity between IDCs, use the Site Interconnection feature of DXGW to interconnect traffic between IDCs in different regions.
  • Layer 2 networking between IDCs:
  • Associate a Virtual Interface: Associate the Ethernet VIF with DXGW so that the DXGW can establish an interconnection network over the DC Connection.
