Enabling a preset alert template
Alert templates can be preset for the monitoring items of various cloud services. Preset alert templates include basic information, resources, and alert rules, but do not include notification methods. Preset alert templates can be applied with a few clicks, which streamlines processes.
Prerequisites
Procedure
  1. Log in to the Cloud Monitor console.
  1. In the left navigation bar, click Alert Center > Alert Template.
  1. Click the Preset alert template tab.
  1. On the Preset alert template page, in the Enable column, switch on the toggle to enable the preset alert template.
  1. On the Configure contact group page, configure the alert channel and then click Confirm.
  •
    Parameter
    Descriptions
    Notification method
Select an alert configuration method. You can select Manually select or Notification policy.
    Notify policy
If you select Notification policy for Notification method, select a specific notification policy.
    Alert channel
If you set Notification method to Manually select, select one or more notification channels. Available options include Email, Phone, SMS, Alert callback, and Orchestration. For the limits on receiving notifications by phone number or SMS message, refer to Limit.
    Alert contact group
If you select one or more of the following options for Alert channel: Email, Phone, or SMS, the Alert contact group parameter will be displayed on the page.
    • At least one contact group must be specified as the recipient of alert notifications.
    • Up to five contact groups can be specified as the recipients of alert notifications.
    Webhook
If you set the Alert channel parameter to Alert callback, the Alert callback text box will be displayed on the page.
    • You must specify a public URL as the webhook URL. If a resource subsequently triggers an alert policy, the system will send the alert details to this URL via a POST request, enabling you to perform in-depth data analysis.
    • You can select created webhook URLs. Up to eight webhook URLs can be selected.
    • You can enter only one webhook URL.
    • We recommend that you prepare a server with the HTTP service enabled and accessible via the public network, and then specify the HTTP URL of the server as the callback URL.

  1. After configuration is complete, click Apply.
Verifying results
warning
  • The enabled preset alert template will be applied to all regions and all resources.
  • You cannot delete alert policies generated based on a preset alert template.
  • If a preset alert template is disabled, the automatically generated alert policies based on it will also be deleted.
  • Disabling or enabling the preset alert template will not affect the contents of the alert policy.
  • Alert policies automatically generated by preset alert templates do not have their associated preset alert templates displayed.
After you enable a preset alert template, the corresponding alert policy is automatically generated. Here:
  • An alert policy name follows the {Resource type}{Dimension} format. For example, when the resource type is ECS and the dimension is Instance, the generated alert policy name is ECS Instance alert policy.
  • The description of the alert policy is An alert policy automatically generated after the preset alert template is enabled. It can only be deleted by disabling the preset alert template.
In the preset alert template list, select an enabled alert template and then click Configure contact group in the Actions column to modify contact group settings of the template, such as the notification policy, contacts, and notification method.
