This article provides sample code for initializing the client. ## Prerequisites * [Go SDK is installed](https://docs.volcengine.com/docs/84346/1899749) * [AKSK information is obtained](https://www.volcengine.com/docs/6291/65568) * [Region information is obtained](https://docs.volcengine.com/docs/84346/1548469#ARJs24LA) ## Configure environment variables Hardcoding long\-term access credentials (AccessKey) in your business code introduces security risks. We recommend you manage credentials by configuring environment variables. This section describes how to configure long\-term access credentials on different operating systems. Linux / macOS Add AKSK information to the configuration file. ```Shell export VOLCENGINE_ACCESS_KEY_ID= export VOLCENGINE_ACCESS_KEY_SECRET= ``` Windows Set environment variables as follows: 1. In the environment variables dialog, click **New**. 2. Set the variable name to VOLCENGINE_ACCESS_KEY_ID and VOLCENGINE_ACCESS_KEY_SECRET, and set the value to your AccessKey ID and AccessKey Secret. 3. After saving your changes, restart Windows. ## Initialize client Initialize the client using the following code. ```Go package main import ( "fmt" "os" "github.com/volcengine/volcengine-go-sdk/service/cbr" "github.com/volcengine/volcengine-go-sdk/volcengine" "github.com/volcengine/volcengine-go-sdk/volcengine/credentials" "github.com/volcengine/volcengine-go-sdk/volcengine/session" ) func main() { var ( ak string sk string region string config *volcengine.Config sess *session.Session client *cbr.CBR resp *cbr.DescribeRegionsOutput err error ) ak = os.Getenv("VOLCENGINE_ACCESS_KEY_ID") sk = os.Getenv("VOLCENGINE_ACCESS_KEY_SECRET") region = "your region" config = volcengine.NewConfig(). WithCredentials(credentials.NewStaticCredentials(ak, sk, "")). WithRegion(region) sess, err = session.NewSession(config) if err != nil { panic(err) } client = cbr.New(sess) resp, err = client.DescribeRegions(&cbr.DescribeRegionsInput{}) if err != nil { panic(err) } fmt.Println("resp:%v", resp) } ```
