Why can't a IAM use DBW normally even though DBW permissions have already been granted?
  • Possible reason: Platform permissions ≠ Instance permissions, both are required.
  • Granting only DbwFullAccess (platform permission for DBW) to IAM users is insufficient. IAM users must also:
  1. Be added to user roles (such as Administrator or Normal user) within the DBW system.
  1. When security control is enabled for an instance, access permissions must also be granted at the specific database instance level.
  • Solution:
  1. Grant platform access: Provide IAM users with DBW permissions. For detailed actions, see IAM user permission management.
  1. Add to DBW user system: Add IAM users as Administrators or Normal users in the DBW console. For detailed steps, refer to Adding a user.
  1. Grant instance-level permissions (e.g., enabling security control): If the target instance has security control enabled, you need to separately grant the IAM user access permissions for that instance. For detailed actions, please refer to Authorize user.
