NFS protocol overview
You can use the protocol service to access vePFS file storage directly via NFSv3 protocol. This article introduces the supported specifications, usage restrictions, and usage procedures of the protocol service.
Notice
The NFS protocol feature is currently in beta. If you need to use this feature, submit a ticket or contact your account manager.
Specifications
The currently supported NFS specifications and descriptions are as follows. When data is cached, vePFS provides higher intranet bandwidth according to the specifications. Prices vary depending on specifications and bandwidth. Refer to the console for accurate pricing.

Usage

Limit
Restrictions
Number of protocol services that can be created in a single file system
1 instance.
Number of VPCs exportable by a single protocol service
1.
Number of export directories that can be created for a single protocol service
1.
Protocol type
Only supports the NFSv3 protocol and does not support the NFSv4.x protocol.
Operating systems
Accessing file systems via NFS protocol on Windows operating systems is not recommended.
Feature description
  • The POSIX permission bits (SetUID, SetGID, and Sticky Bits) are not supported.
  • File locking is not supported.
  • Posix ACL is not supported.
  • Currently, export directories can only be created within the same VPC on vePFS.
File amount limitation
An NFS client can open up to 32,768 files at the same time. The list directory and its files will not be counted as open files.
Maximum file name length
255 bytes.
Maximum number of open files
1 million.
Number of compute nodes that can be mounted by a single protocol service
10,000.

Workflow
After creating a protocol service, you can create export directories and mount file systems.
