Configure public network access
BMQ instances support enabling public network access and adding public network access points, making it convenient for devices outside the private network VPC to access the instance via the public network.
After public network access is enabled, Cloud Message Engine provides the instance with public domain names and IP access points using the SASL_SSL protocol, allowing clients to access the BMQ instance via the public network. When using the SASL_SSL protocol, you need to obtain the authorized user's username and password in advance. For instructions on how to obtain them, see View SASL user password. When public network access is enabled, the public address will be bound to your Elastic Public IP (EIP), and the fees will be charged by the EIP. For more details, see EIP product billing. - The BMQ instance has been successfully created, and the instance status is Running.
- Before enabling public network access, create an EIP in the same region. We recommend that the bound EIP bandwidth limit exceeds the estimated peak public network traffic. For detailed instructions, refer to Apply for a public IP.
Add a public network access point
- In the top menu bar, select the target project and region.
- In the left navigation bar, select BMQ instance, click the target instance name to enter the instance details page.
- On the Instance details tab, in the Access information section, click Add access point.
- Enter the endpoint parameter information.
- Wait for public network activation to complete.
- Public network activation takes some time. Please wait patiently. After public network activation is complete, the access point address for the SASL_SSL protocol will be displayed.
Delete a public network access point
When public network devices no longer need to access the BMQ instance, it is recommended to promptly disable the public network access function.
warning
After public network access is disabled, clients will no longer be able to access the BMQ instance via the original public network access point. Please confirm that your business is not using the public network address to avoid unnecessary loss.
- On the Instance details tab, in the Access information section, click Delete in the operation column of the target access point.
- Click Delete in the prompt window.
