Description of arrears or expiration
This topic describes the overdue payment or expiration policies for Pay-as-you-go and Subscription billing modes of the cloud-native message engine BMQ.
Description of arrears
After your account becomes overdue, your resources will enter a retention period, and resource usage will be restricted; if the retention period is exceeded, your resources will be forcibly reclaimed and related data cannot be restored. Please try to avoid account overdue situations. If an overdue payment occurs, please recharge and settle the overdue bill promptly.
Regardless of whether your instance is frozen or released, you must settle the fees for billed charges.
Pay-as-you-go instance
For Pay-as-you-go instances, the platform issues bills on an hourly basis, and charges are settled and deducted in real time after the bill is issued. If the available quota in your account (including account balance and vouchers) is less than the bill to be settled, your account will be considered overdue, and you will receive a notification via SMS or email about insufficient balance.
The handling rules for account overdue payments are as follows:

Overdue duration
Description
Within 24 hours after becoming overdue
The system will continue to keep the instance running normally, and the service will remain available.
Overdue for more than 24 hours
If the account is overdue for more than 24 hours and the bill is still not settled, the cloud-native message engine service will be suspended.
After the service is suspended, if the outstanding bill is paid within 7 days, the system will immediately restore the service.
Service suspended for 168 hours
The system will forcibly release the instance and reclaim the resources.
Once the instance is reclaimed, the data cannot be restored.

Subscription instances
After your account becomes overdue, you can still use purchased Subscription instances normally, but you cannot purchase new instances or renew existing ones.
Subscription instances have a corresponding usage period. After the Subscription duration expires, if you do not renew in time, the instance will be automatically released.
Expiration description
Only Subscription instances are affected by expiration. Pay-as-you-go instances have no usage duration limit; you only need to ensure your account has sufficient balance.
After a Subscription instance expires, the resource status at each stage is as follows:

Expiration time
Results
How to operate
