Setting up a custom domain
This topic explains how to set up a custom domain for your bucket using the TOS console.
Background information
After you upload a file to TOS, you can access or download it using the file URL automatically generated by TOS. If you wish to use your own domain name to access objects stored in TOS, you can associate your custom domain with the bucket. After association, you can use the corresponding domain name to access your objects.
For example, if you have associated the www.test.com domain with the test bucket in the China (Beijing) region and the association has taken effect, you can access the object.png file in the test bucket in the following ways:
- TOS automatically generated URL: https://test.tos-cn-beijing.volces.com/object.png
- Custom domain address: https://www.test.com/object.png
Prerequisites
- You have obtained an Internet content provider (ICP) license for your custom domain.
Notes
- Each domain name can only be associated with one bucket.
- Each bucket can hold up to 100 associated domain names.
- By default, the owner of an account has full permissions. IAM users have no permissions by default. If an IAM user needs to perform any of the following operations, the account owner must grant the user the appropriate permissions using an IAM or bucket policy.
- Associate custom domains: tos:PutBucketCustomDomain
- View custom domains: tos:GetBucketCustomDomain
- Disassociate custom domains: tos:DeleteBucketCustomDomain
Steps
- In the left navigation pane, click Buckets.
- In the top menu bar, select the project of the bucket you want to manage.
- On the Buckets page, click the bucket you want to manage.
- In the left navigation pane, select Domain name and transfer acceleration > Domain Management. On the Domain Management page, click Create a custom domain.
- Enter the domain name in the box that appears. Then, click Advanced settings to select the domain's access protocol.
warning
- Wildcard domains, such as *.test.com are not supported.
- After associating a custom domain, you must configure DNS records for your domain. Create a CNAME record pointing to the bucket's public access domain name. Then, the custom domain will become active.
- To access the custom domain via HTTPS, associate an HTTPS certificate with the domain. For instructions, see Associating a certificate.
- Once you have finished configuring, click Associate.
Other operations
- Disassociate a custom domain
- On the Domain Management page, click Disassociate domain name next to the domain name you want to remove. Confirm the disassociation by clicking Unbind.
- If your domain name has not undergone ICP filing, its status will be displayed as Disabled after it is added. Once the ICP filing for the domain is approved, click Apply for unblocking in the Actions column corresponding to the domain to lift the restriction.
