The inventory file has not yet been generated. Why is that?

The following reasons may explain why the inventory file has not been generated.

Possible cause	How to fix it
You are looking for the inventory file in the incorrect destination bucket or path	Use the correct destination bucket or path.
Either the source bucket has no objects, or the inventory rule does not match any of the objects	Create the bucket inventory for a reasonable set of objects.
The inventory rule matches too many objects, causing the generation of the inventory file to fail	Set an appropriate export cycle based on the number of objects. Number of objects < 10 billion: Daily or weekly exports are acceptable. Number of objects between 10 billion and 50 billion: Weekly exports are recommended. Number of objects > 50 billion: We recommend specifying object prefixes and exporting files in batches.
Insufficient permissions	TOS uses the TosArchiveTOSInventory role for the bucket inventory feature. Generating the inventory file may fail if you have set up bucket or IAM policies for business reasons or enabled SSE-KMS encryption for the bucket. For more information, see Permissions required.

What factors might affect the speed at which the inventory file is exported?

The export speed depends on how many objects are being exported. We recommend setting a reasonable export cycle based on this number.

If you need to export more than 10 billion objects, export the inventory file weekly to prevent failure.
