Quick start with TOS Browser
This topic will teach you how to use TOS Browser quickly, including how to create buckets and manage objects like uploading, downloading, and deleting.
Prerequisites
Step 1: Create a bucket
  1. On the Buckets page, click Create bucket in the upper-right corner.
  1. Set the bucket parameters in the box that appears.
tip
For more information on parameters when creating a bucket, see Creating buckets.
  1. Once you have finished configuring, click Create.
Step 2: Upload an object to the bucket
  1. On the Buckets page, click the name of the bucket to which you want to upload an object.
  1. On the Objects page, click Upload file.
  1. Set the object parameters on the Upload file page.
tip
For more information on parameters when uploading an object, see Uploading objects.
  1. Select the file you want to upload, and click Upload.
  • Then, you are redirected to the Task schedule management panel. To view task progress and status, you can also click the Image icon in the upper-right corner.
Step 3: Download the object
  1. On the Buckets page, click the name of the bucket.
  1. On the Objects page, click Download in the Actions column of the object you want to download.
Step 4: Obtain object links
  1. On the Buckets page, click the name of the bucket.
  1. On the Objects page, click ... > Get address in the Actions column of the object you want to manage.
  1. In the box that appears, select the type of URL you want, and then click the copy icon next to the URL to get it.
  • The URL types are described as follows.
  •
    Type
    Description
    File address
The download URL for the object, which is valid for one hour.
    Pre-signed link
    • If your bucket policy conflicts with an object's access control list (ACL) policy — for instance, if an object's ACL policy is set to Public read but your bucket policy denies access — your bucket policy takes precedence, and you cannot access the object through the URL. Create a pre-signed URL to access the object instead.
    • The default validity period for a pre-signed URL is 3 minutes, with a supported range of 0 to 7 days. You can set the validity period as needed. Once you have set it up, click Generate and copy links.

tip
  • If the bucket containing the object was created on or before January 3, 2024, scan the QR code under URL to preview or download the object, depending on its type.
  • If the bucket was created after January 3, 2024, scanning the QR code under URL only allows you to download the object.
Step 5: Exit TOS Browser
When you are finished using TOS Browser, click the icon in the upper-right corner. Then, click Log out to exit the browser.
