Overview
TOS Vectors is a cost-effective solution designed for semantic search and AI applications, targeting scenarios with large-scale & long-term storage, high elasticity, and low-frequency queries.
This document introduces TOS Vectors API interfaces, request parameters, and usage examples. You can use the APIs provided in this document to perform operations on TOS services, such as creating vector buckets/indexes, deleting vector buckets/indexes, and uploading, downloading, or deleting vectors.
tip
This feature is currently in free invitation testing, available only in the China (Beijing) region. Contact your account manager to apply for a trial.
Usage instructions
For all operations supported by TOS Vectors, refer to the API overview.
The topic focuses on request syntax, meaning of parameters, and sample requests and responses.
TOS Vectors related concepts

Term
Description
Vector Bucket
Vector bucket is the top-level namespace of TOS Vectors. The bucket name is unique within each region and account. Before uploading vectors to TOS Vectors, create a vector bucket first. For easier understanding, you can compare it to the concept of a database.
Vector Index
Vector index is the secondary namespace of TOS Vectors. A vector bucket can create multiple vector indexes, and each vector index name is unique within a vector bucket. A vector index acts as a container for vectors to store vector data. Before uploading vectors to TOS Vectors, create a vector index under the vector bucket. For easier understanding, you can compare it to the concept of a database table.
Vector
A vector is the basic unit that uniquely identifies a data item in the vector index. It consists of a vector name (key), vector data (data), and vector metadata (metadata).
Region
The region indicates the geographic location of the data center where TOS Vectors is hosted.
User
A service consumer created by an account, possessing identity credentials (passwords and access keys).
Endpoint
Indicates the access domain name for TOS Vectors external services.
Access Key ID (AK)
The ID of an access key. A unique identifier paired with the SK to obtain an encrypted signature for a request.
Secret Access Key (SK)
A private access key paired with the AK to obtain an encrypted signature for a request, thus identifying the sender and ensuring request integrity.
tip
For instructions on how to view the AK and SK, see Viewing the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key.
