Creating vector buckets
A vector bucket is a designated space for storing and querying vectors. Before using vectors, you must create a vector bucket. This topic describes how to do so.
Prerequisites
Notes
Each account can have up to 100 vector buckets per region.
Steps
  1. Log in to the TOS console.
  1. In the left navigation pane, click Vector bucket list - Beta.
  1. In the upper-left corner of the displayed page, click Create vector bucket.
  1. Configure the vector bucket parameters.
  •
    Parameter
    Description
    Vector Bucket Name
Enter a name for your vector bucket. After you create the bucket, you cannot change its name. The vector bucket name must:
    • Be globally unique within TOS, meaning no duplication is allowed across all regions and accounts.
    • Be between 3 and 32 characters long.
    • Consist only of lowercase letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), and hyphens (-).
    • Start and end with a lowercase letter or number.
    Region
Select the region where you want to create your vector bucket. After you create a bucket, you cannot change its region.
    tip
Currently, only China (Beijing) supports vector buckets.
    Category
From the drop-down list, select the project to which your vector bucket belongs. This groups related cloud resources under a account for easier management.
    tip
    • A vector bucket can belong to only one project.
    • To create a project, click Create new projects on the right. This will take you to the IAM console.
    Tag
Add a tag to your vector bucket.
    tip
    • The tag key and value must follow certain rules. For more information, see Tagging rules.
    • Click Add row to continue adding tags. Each vector bucket can have up to 10 tags.

  1. Click Submit to finish creating the vector bucket.
