Torch Object Storage
Overview
Common concepts
Common concepts
Bucket
- A bucket is a container for storing objects. Each object must reside in a bucket. A bucket has various configuration attributes, including region and access permissions. You can create different types of buckets to store different data as needed.
- Bucket names are globally unique. Once you have created a bucket, no other user can create a bucket with the same name.
- The storage capacity of each bucket is unlimited.
- Contain only lowercase letters (a-z), numbers, and hyphens (-).
- Start and end with a number or letter.
- Be between 3 and 63 characters long.
Object
- An object or a file is a basic unit of data stored in TOS. It consists of a key, data, and metadata.
- An object key is the full name of an object uploaded to a bucket, that is, a full path containing the directory and suffix, such as abc/xyz/test123.txt.
- Be between 1 and 1024 bytes.
Region
A region is the physical location of a TOS data center. For a list of TOS regions, see Regions and endpoints. Access key
An access key (AK) consists of an access key ID and secret. It is your credential to access TOS.
TOS delivers strong read-after-write consistency. This consistency is maintained across all replicas and distributed storage nodes to ensure synchronized data accessibility.
