DDoS protection provides security capabilities for resources on Volcano Engine, such as ECS and Load Balancer (LB), to meet the security requirements for daily operations. You can benefit from network protection bandwidth based on the native network, essential protection policies, and various charts.
This topic describes the DDoS protection solutions provided by ECS. To enable DDoS protection for ECS instances, see Purchasing instances via wizard.
Cloud DDoS Protection_Basic
Cloud DDoS Protection_Basic leverages the native protection bandwidth of the VolcanoEngine network to provide free DDoS protection (with a maximum capacity of 2 Gbps) for public network resources such as ECS and CLB instances on VolcanoEngine. It delivers real-time attack monitoring with second-level response capabilities, satisfying the security requirements of daily operations.

Protected objects
If you are a VolcanoEngine user and your cloud resources have an EIP, the EIP is automatically protected by Cloud DDoS Protection_Basic.
Billing method
You are not charged when you use Cloud DDoS Protection_Basic.
Anti-DDoS Origin (Enterprise Edition)
You can easily enable Anti-DDoS Origin. After you connect an EIP to Anti-DDoS Origin, the protection capabilities are applied to the associated application with a few clicks. Since business traffic does not require a back-to-origin process, access latency is significantly reduced. Anti-DDoS Origin is built on multidimensional protection algorithms and a high-efficiency protection engine, enabling it to easily mitigate the impact of attacks on business operations and ensure business continuity.

Protected objects
On VolcanoEngine, enhanced protection EIPs can be quickly associated with an Anti-DDoS Origin package. This allows you to obtain DDoS protection ranging from a minimum of 300 Gbps up to the Tbps level without changing your IP addresses.
