Migrating ECS instances between DDHs
This topic describes how to migrate ECS instances between different DDHs within your account.
Prerequisites
  • The target DDH and the ECS instance to be migrated must belong to the same account, region, and availability zone.
  • The ECS instance to be migrated must be in the "Stopped" status. Stop the instance first.
Procedure
  1. Log in to the DDH console.
  1. In the top menu bar, select the region where your business is located.
  1. On the DDH list page, click the host name to go to the host details page, and then select the "Associated instances" tab.
  1. In the "Actions" column of the target instance, click "Change host deployment".
  1. In the pop-up dialog box, configure the parameters described in the following table.
  •
    Configuration item
    Description
    Target type
    Select "Dedicated host".
    Target host
Click the drop-down list to select the DDH to which the ECS instance will be migrated.
    tip
If no DDHs are available, create a DDH first.
    Associate host
For ECS instances in Economical Mode, some resources will be released after the instances are stopped. This parameter specifies whether the ECS instance will remain fixed on the target host when the ECS instance restarts.
    • If you associate an instance in Economical Mode with a host, when the instance restarts, it will still be deployed on the target host. If the available resources on the target host are insufficient, the restart will fail.
    • If you do not associate an instance in Economical Mode with a host, when the instance restarts, it will be preferentially migrated to a host that supports automatic deployment. If the restart fails, it will restart on the target host.

  1. Click "Confirm" to complete the operation.
