Quickly building a visual file manager for NAS by using veFaaS
This topic describes how to quickly deploy Kodbox, a visual file manager, by using veFaaS. With Kodbox, you can easily browse, edit, upload, and download files in the NAS system.
- The Kodbox image provides serverless deployment capabilities for the Kodbox open-source project. You can quickly deploy a Kodbox web-based file manager by using the image to locally realize visual management of function directories. Furthermore, combined with the NAS file mounting feature, you can visually manage the mounted NAS file system remotely.
- This image is built on kodbox 1.49. If you encounter software usage issues, go to the community to find solutions.
warning
- The veFaaS does not guarantee the legality, security, or accuracy of third-party models and is not liable for any damage caused thereby.
- You must comply with the user agreement, usage rules, and relevant laws and regulations of third-party models and bear all responsibilities for the legality and compliance of using third-party models.
- For Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
- Volcano Engine VPC has been activated.
- Permission for using Volcano Engine NAS has been obtained.
- A NAS file system has been created in the region where the function is to be deployed. For details, see Creating file systems.
- Permission for using Volcano Engine API Gateway has been obtained.
- An API Gateway instance and service have been created. Note that the service needs to be dedicated to the function. For details, see Creating instances and Creating services.
- Permission for using veFaaS has been obtained.
tip
[Beta · apply for trial] The Kodbox public image is currently in beta. To request access, please submit a ticket or contact your account manager. Note that you need to specify explicitly the Kodbox public image is what you want when applying. Step 1: Create a function and mount NAS
Use the public image Kodbox visual file manager for NAS to create a function and mount the NAS file system.
- In the top navigation bar, select the target region.
- On the Function page, click Create function, and select Create [Web applications].
- Enter a function name and notes.
- Deployment method: select Container image > Public image > Kodbox visual file manager for NAS.
- Configure VPC access and storage and keep other options unchanged.
- Specify virtual private cloud, subnets, and security groups to which the function will be bound. Note that VPC configured for the function needs to be consistent with the VPC where the NAS mount point is placed.
- Configure NAS file system, mount point, remote directory, and local directory.
- NAS file system: select a NAS file system in the same region.
- Mount point: select the NAS mount point that is located in the same VPC as the function is.
- Remote directory: configure the remote directory to be accessed on the NAS . For example /doc-nas-1.
- Local directory: configure the local directory for the function runtime environment. For example /mnt/nas.
Step 2: Release the function
Release the function code and configuration.
- On the function details page, click Release in the upper right corner.
- Select Latest for the function version. Keep the rest unchanged.
- Click Confirm and wait until the function release is finished.
Step 3: Create API Gateway Trigger
Create an API Gateway trigger for the current function to obtain the access domain of Kodbox WebUI.
- Switch to the Trigger tab and click Create trigger.
- Gateway instance: select the gateway instance you created as required in the prerequisites above.
- Gateway service: select the gateway service you created as required in the prerequisites above. Note that you need to select a gateway service of which routing has not been configured.
- Gateway routing: The Path here must be set to / to access the Kodbox WebUI. Leave other settings as the default.
- Click Confirm to create the APIG trigger.
- Click the access address of the API Gateway Trigger to open the Kodbox WebUI.
- Finish installation of Kodbox by following the instructions on the page.
- On the environment check tab, confirm all the environment information is correct, then click Next.
- On the database configuration tab, select PDO as the database type and keep the rest unchanged, then click Confirm.
- On the account settings tab, set a password for the admin account, then click Confirm.
- After the configuration is complete, you are automatically redirected to the Kodbox login page. Enter the account and password to log in.
- In the address bar, enter the local directory where the function mounts the NAS and press Enter to quickly access the remote NAS root directory.
- You can then manage the mounted FileNAS file system just as you would in Windows.
tip
- Because other functions have mounted the same remote NAS directory as this function, you can see files written by other functions in the current directory.
