Creating Timer triggers
Timer triggers are used to periodically trigger function logic. This topic describes how to create Timer triggers.
Prerequisites
The function must have completed at least one full release. For details, see Releasing functions.
Limit
You can create up to 20 triggers for each function.
Procedure
  1. Log in to the veFaaS console.
  1. In the top navigation bar, select the target region.
  1. In the function list, find the function for which you want to create a trigger and click its name.
  1. On the function details page, click Create trigger on the Trigger tab.
  1. In the Create trigger panel, specify the parameters as required.
  •
    Parameter
    Description
    Trigger type
    Select Scheduled trigger.
    Trigger name
Specify a custom name for the trigger. Trigger names cannot be repeated under the same function. The trigger name cannot be modified after being created.
    Push time
You can specify the time by using one of the following methods. After configuration, click Trigger time preview to view the trigger time points.
    • Specified time: Specify the Recurrence cycle and Trigger time parameters.
    • Cron expression: Set the time by using a Crontab expression. A Crontab expression consists of five parts: minute, hour, day of the month, month, and day of the week. The details are as follows:
    • Minute: The value range is 0 to 59. If the value is *, it indicates that any value can be matched.
    • Hour: The value range is 0 to 23. If the value is *, it indicates that any value can be matched.
    • Day of the month: The value range is 1 to 31. If the value is *, it indicates that any value can be matched.
    • Month: The value range is 1 to 12. If the value is *, it indicates that any value can be matched.
    • Day of the week: The value range is 0 to 7. When the value is 0 or 7, it indicates Sunday. When the value is *, it indicates that any value can be matched.
    • For example, 0 12 * * * indicates that the function is triggered at 12:00 noon every day.
    Activate now
Whether to enable the Trigger while creating it.
    Request concurrency
Specify whether to enable request concurrency for the trigger:
    • Enable: If the trigger has not completed a request and the time for processing the next request arrives, it will directly process the next request in concurrency.
    • Disable: If the trigger has not completed a request and the time for processing the next request arrives, it will skip the next request.
    Trigger message
Enter the message for triggering the function execution. This parameter can be left empty.
    Description
Enter the description of the trigger. This parameter can be left empty.

  1. Click Confirm to create the Timer trigger.
What to do next
  • For the method of modifying the configurations of the Timer trigger, see Managing triggers.
