Managing applications
This topic describes how to manage applications by using the Serverless application center, including creating applications, viewing application logs, and deleting applications.
Create applications by using templates
The application center provides various application templates to help you simplify the application creation process and create all cloud resources associated with applications with a few clicks.
  1. Log in to the veFaaS console.
  1. In the top navigation bar, select the target region.
  1. In the left navigation bar, click App > My app.
  1. On the My app page, click Create app.
  1. In the Creating based on app templates section, find the target application template, hover the pointer over the template card, and then click Create now.
  1. Specify the parameters of the application based on the on-screen prompts. After the configuration is complete, click Confirm to create and deploy the application.
Create applications by using repositories or code packages
You can create applications by using code repositories or code packages based on different scenarios.
  • Code repository: veFaaS supports pushing source code to a target code repository. By using event triggers in the code repository, applications can achieve automatic build and deployment.
  • Code package: Custom code delivers higher flexibility and supports more business scenarios.

  1. Log in to the veFaaS console.
  1. In the top navigation bar, select the target region.
  1. In the left navigation bar, click App > My app.
  1. On the My app page, click Create app.
  1. In the Custom create section, hover the pointer over the Github card, and click Create now.
  1. Specify the parameters of the application based on the on-screen prompts. After the configuration is complete, click Confirm to create and deploy the application.
  • Basic information
  •
    Parameter
    Description
    App name
Specify a custom name for the application.

  • Code and running configuration
  •
    Parameter
    Description
    Code source type
The Github or Code type is supported.
    • GitHub: Pulls code and deploys the application based on a remote code repository. You need to specify the following parameters.
    • Binding code repository: Used to associate the remote repository address where the source code of the application is stored. The latest code can be used for building and deploying the application, which ensures the application version is consistent with the repository code.
    • Username: Click GitHub authorization on the right side. After authorization is complete, select the authorized GitHub account.
    • code warehouse: Select the target code repository.
    • code branching: Select the target branch.
    • Code: Applications can be deployed through local code packages. Click Click to upload to upload the code package.
    Associated code repository
Only the code source is used to associate the remote repository address where the source code of the application is stored, such as GitLab. The latest code can be used for building and deploying the application, which ensures the application version is consistent with the repository code.
    Username
Click GitHub License on the right side. After authorization is complete, select the authorized GitHub account.
    code warehouse
    Select the target code repository.
    code branching
    Select the target branch.
    Frame type
Select the development framework of the application to automatically configure the runtime environment, start command, and other information of the application.
    • Next.js: A full-stack web framework based on React. Focusing on optimizing frontend performance, it is suitable for building e-commerce and news web applications.
    • Nuxt: A full-stack web framework based on Vue.js. With built-in routing and rendering capabilities, it is suitable for quickly building corporate websites, blogs, and other Vue-based applications.
    • FastAPI: A high-performance backend API framework based on Python that supports automatic generation of API documentation. It is suitable for developing data APIs, machine learning services, and lightweight backends.
    • NestJS: An enterprise-level backend framework based on Node.js and TypeScript that adopts a modular architecture. It supports microservices development and is suitable for building large-scale business systems.
    • Custom: Specify the runtime environment, start command, and other information based on your business requirements.
    operating environment
Select the runtime environment of the application.
    Build command
Enter the build command for the application.
    Product path
Enter the path of the application output.
    Startup command
Enter the start command of the application.
    tip
For the deployment of non-container images:
    • Enter a start command. To specify a script file, use the relative path from the root directory of the code package.
    • If no start command is entered, the script ./run.sh in the root directory of the code package will be executed by default.
    Listening port
Enter the port that the HTTP server in the code needs to listen on.
    warning
    • The enabled HTTP server needs to listen on 0.0.0.0:<Port number> or *:<Port number>. Otherwise, a request timeout error will occur.
    • Avoid using port 9990, which is already occupied by the service.
    • If you enter 0, port 8000 is used by default.
    Execution timeout
Set a time limit for the execution of a single request. If the execution exceeds this limit, the process will be terminated and an error will be returned.

  • Resource allocation
  •
    Parameter
    Description
    Instance specification
Select the resource specification for the instance. The default specification is 1 vCPU and 2 GiB.
    • When the vCPU value is an integer, the supported ratios of vCPU size to memory size (GiB) are 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8.
    • When the vCPU value is not an integer, the supported ratios of vCPU size to memory size (GiB) are 1:2 and 1:4.
    APIG instance
Select the API Gateway instance created.

View applications
In the application center, you can view all applications created within the current account, as well as the details and logs of each application.
  • View application logs
  • In the application list on the My app page, find the target application and click Logs in the Actions column to quickly view the real-time deployment logs of the current application.
  • View application details
  • In the application list on the My app page, click the name of the target application to go to the details page of the current application. You can view the logs, basic information, and all associated cloud resources for the application.
  • View cloud resources associated with the application
  1. In the application list on the My app page, click the name of the target application to go to the details page of the current application.
  1. In the cloud resource list, click the plus sign (+) next to the cloud product name to view the specific cloud resources of the current cloud product.
  • For example, click the plus sign (+) next to veFaaS to view the function name and running status of the application. Click the function name to go to the function details page.
Delete applications
You can delete applications and all their associated resources with a few clicks.
danger
When you delete an application, all cloud resources associated with the application will also be deleted. If some resources are used in other scenarios, exercise caution when deleting the application.
  1. In the application list on the My app page, find the target application and click Delete in the Actions column.
  1. In the pop-up confirmation message, carefully check whether all cloud resources associated with the application can be deleted.
  1. After confirmation, select the risk warning box and click Delete.
