Managing functions
This topic describes function management operations, including editing online, uploading code, updating images, and deleting functions.
Edit functions online
You can edit Node.js and Python code files online. After editing the code, you need to release the function again for the changes to take effect.
- In the top navigation bar, select the region where your business is located.
- In the function list, find the target function and click its name.
- Select Latest from the version drop-down list in the upper-right corner.
- In the Resource Manager area, click the file that you want to edit.
- Update the code as needed. Click Save.
Upload code
veFaaS supports two options for uploading code: uploading a local ZIP file and uploading from TOS. After uploading the code, you need to release the function again for the code to take effect.
tip
- Before uploading code, confirm that code development has been completed locally.
- To upload code from TOS, confirm that you have activated and are using Volcano Engine TOS.
- The code package must be a non-encrypted ZIP file that does not exceed 256 MiB.
- In the top navigation bar, select the region where your business is located.
- In the function list, find the target function and click its name.
warning
The ZIP file uploaded here will overwrite all code files currently in the editor.
- Click Upload > Upload zip file to upload the locally developed function code.
- Click Upload > Upload from TOS. In the upload section, select the bucket and the ZIP file prepared in the prerequisites.
- Click Confirm to upload the code.
Update images
For functions deployed using a container image, you can update the container image. After the update, you need to release the function again for the update to take effect.
- In the function list, find the target function and click its name to enter the basic information tab.
- On the Function settings tab, edit the Runtime.
- In the Edit settings panel, click Modify Image.
- On the pop-up page, select a new image version from CR as needed.
- When you select an image from CR, veFaaS obtains image information (such as the startup command and environment variables). You can specify whether to overwrite the startup command or environment variables of the function with the startup command or environment variables of the selected image.
- Click Confirm to return to the Edit settings panel.
- Confirm other function settings and click Save to save the updated function configuration.
- Release the function to apply the updated configuration. For details, refer to Releasing functions.
Delete functions
danger
Deleting a function will cause its instances to be immediately released or destroyed. This operation cannot be undone. Proceed with caution.
- In the top navigation bar, select the region where your business is located.
- In the function list, select the target function and in the Actions column, click ... > Delete.
- In the pop-up confirmation dialog box, verify the function information. To proceed with the deletion, click Delete.
