This topic describes observability metrics for asynchronous tasks, including task execution statistics, logs, monitoring metrics, and more.
Task execution statistics
On the function details page, click Asynchronous task to open the Asynchronous task tab, where you can view the task execution status.
Task count statistics
The dashboard displays the overall status of task execution for the past 7 days by default. You can also specify a custom time range (up to the last 30 days) or view up to 10,000 records, whichever limit is reached first. veFaaS automatically deletes tasks in completed states (Succeeded, Failed, Unknown, or Terminated), and retains only the tasks from the last 30 days or the most recent 10,000 records.
The dashboard displays the total number of tasks, the number of tasks in each state, and the proportion of tasks in each state.
Task execution records
This list displays detailed information about each task in a table, including the task ID, current status, submission/end time, and total duration. You can also manually terminate invocation for tasks in the Pending or Running state.
Logs
For asynchronous tasks, veFaaS provides observability logs at the task, instance, and function levels to facilitate function debugging and fault analysis.
Task logs
You can query the execution logs for each task.
On the Asynchronous task tab of the target function, select the target task ID and click the + icon to the left of the task ID to view task execution information. Click Logs to go to the Logs tab, where you can view the execution logs of the task and query task execution records.
tip
Task logs are retrieved and matched based on the name of the instance executing the task (pod_name) and the task start/end time.
Instance logs
For tasks in the Running state, you can view their real-time instance logs.
- On the Asynchronous task tab of the target function, copy the Instance name corresponding to the task. Go to the Resource management tab to search for the instance name, and in the search result, click Logs to view the instance logs of the task.
- (Optional) Click Webshell to perform certain O&M operations on the instance through Webshell.
Function logs
You can view all execution logs of the current asynchronous task function.
On the function details page, click Logs to open the Logs tab, where you can view all execution logs of the asynchronous task function. For details, see Querying function runtime logs. Monitoring metrics
On the function details page, click the Monitoring tab to view the monitoring metrics of the asynchronous task function. For details, see Monitoring overview.
