How does a function access the public network?
Functions can access the public network via a shared NAT gateway or a private NAT gateway.
  • Shared NAT gateway
  • By default, functions access the public network through the shared NAT gateway provided by the platform. In this mode, the egress IP is dynamically assigned.
  • Private NAT gateway
  • If a function is already configured with an associated VPC network, you can access the public network through the private NAT gateway associated with that VPC. After binding an Elastic IP Address (EIP) to the NAT gateway, the public network egress IP becomes fixed. For detailed instructions, see Creating a public NAT gateway.
For detailed information on the function network configuration, see Network configuration.
