Region
This topic describes the concept of regions, how to select a region, and the available regions for veFaaS.
What is a region?
Region: refers to the geographic region where a physical data center resides. Once a resource is created, the region cannot be changed. Internal networks of different regions are isolated from each other to maximize the stability and fault tolerance across regions.
How to select a region?
When selecting a region, consider the following factors:
  • From a geographical standpoint, it's generally recommended to select the region closest to you or your target users to reduce network latency and improve access speed.
  • From the perspective of resource pricing, there may be differences in resource prices across regions. If you or your target users are in the Chinese mainland, you may not need to worry about network latency caused by different regions, as the differences between regions within the Chinese mainland in terms of infrastructure, BGP network quality, and resource actions and configuration are not significant.
