Mounting FileNAS
veFaaS supports mounting FileNAS so that you can store data in FileNAS file systems. This topic describes how to mount FileNAS. Background information
veFaaS is seamlessly integrated with FileNAS. You can configure FileNAS for functions. FileNAS mount settings include the FileNAS filesystem, mount target, remote directory, local directory, and more. After the FileNAS configuration is successful, functions can manage the remote FileNAS filesystem by accessing the local directory mapped to the FileNAS mount target. The advantages of mounting FileNAS as storage for veFaaS functions are as follows:
- Temporary files generated by veFaaS can be persisted to FileNAS, and the size of temporary files is not limited by the local disk space of a function instance.
- Multiple functions can share a single FileNAS file system to enable file sharing.
tip
The fees incurred for storing data in FileNAS are charged by FileNAS. For details, see FileNAS billing. Prerequisites
- You have activated Volcano Engine VPC.
- You have activated Volcano Engine FileNAS.
- A FileNAS filesystem has been created in the region where the function is to be deployed. For details, see Creating filesystems.
Limits
- FileNAS supports adding mount targets only in VPC. Therefore, functions must have VPC access enabled and be configured to use the same VPC network as the mount target.
- A function supports up to 10 FileNAS file systems.
- When a single function is configured to use multiple FileNAS file systems, file systems and remote directories can be duplicated, but local directories cannot be duplicated.
- If a function mounts both FileNAS and TOS, the local directories set for FileNAS and TOS mount targets cannot be duplicated.
- The default user and user group for the FileNAS directory mounted to a function are as follows and cannot be modified.
- For a non-Native function, both the UserID and the GroupID are 1000.
- For a Native function, both the UserID and the GroupID are root.
Procedure
- You can configure a FileNAS file system for a function using one of the following methods:
- During function creation
- When you create the function, in the Advanced settings section, enable VPC access and then configure FileNAS mounting. For detailed steps of creating functions, see Creating functions.
- Log in to the veFaaS console, and in the top navigation bar, select the region where your funtion is located.
- In the function list, click the name of the function to enter the Function settings page.
- On the function settings page, enable VPC access and configure FileNAS mounting.
- Configure the VPC and FileNAS mount parameters and save the configuration.
Related operations
- View information about the mounted FileNAS filesystem
- On the "Function settings" tab, select the FileNAS configuration card and click the link icon next to the name to navigate to the FileNAS console, where you can view details about the current FileNAS filesystem.
- View monitoring metrics for a FileNAS filesystem
- On the "Function settings" tab, select the FileNAS configuration card and click the monitoring icon to navigate to the FileNAS console, where you can view the monitoring metrics for the current FileNAS filesystem.
What to do next
For the storage configuration to take effect, you need to release the function. For details, see Releasing functions.
