Overview
When developing functions using the Python runtime in veFaaS, you need to follow the Python runtime specifications described by Volcano Engine veFaaS.
This topic describes the runtime environment, development methods, log collection, and packaging methods for Python runtime functions (hereinafter referred to as "Python functions").
Runtime environment
The Python runtime versions currently supported by veFaaS are as follows. When creating a function, you can select the runtime environment you wish to use.
  • Python 3.8
  • Python 3.9
  • Python 3.10
  • Python 3.12
tip
If you wish to use a different Python version, you can achieve this by deploying an image built on a specific Native runtime: Include the runtime corresponding to your development language in a Dockerfile, build an image based on the file, and then deploy the image.
Filesystem restrictions
Write operations are only permitted in the /tmp directory within the container. The default temporary storage capacity is 512 MiB. If the capacity limit is exceeded, the service will be evicted and restarted.
tip
Local user data written to disk is not persistent. Data is deleted when the container is destroyed. Proceed with caution. For persistent storage, see Selecting storage for functions.
