How do functions scale elastically?
tip
Function types such as event functions, web applications, and tasks do not support custom auto-scaling policies. Only microservice applications support this feature. For information on configuring auto-scaling policies for microservice applications, see Auto-scaling.
By default, veFaaS automatically scales in and out based on business traffic, dynamically adjusting the number of instances to match the request load.
  • Scale out: When business traffic increases, the system automatically creates new instances to handle requests.
  • Scale in: After a request completes, if an instance receives no new requests within one minute and its load falls below the configured threshold, the system automatically reclaims the instance.
  • Billing: Elastic instances incur no compute costs when no requests are being executed.
