Project management
Considerations
- veFaaS resources that can be managed at the project level include functions.
- A resource can belong to only one project.
- By default, if you do not specify a project, a newly created resource joins the default project.
- After a resource is bound to a project, it can only be accessed by users who have permissions for that project.
- Associating resources across multiple projects requires permissions for all projects to which the resources belong. For example, to associate a function in project A with a TOS Bucket in project B, you must have permissions for both projects (A and B). For authorization steps, see Managing project permissions.
- To create or manage resources as an IAM user, the IAM user must have been granted the corresponding permissions by the Volcano Engine root user. For steps of granting global or project-level permissions, see Creating and authorizing users.
Procedure
This topic uses functions as an example to describe how to manage cloud resources by project. The general procedure for project-based resource management is as follows:
- Create functions: As an IAM user, create functions and bind the functions to desired projects.
View projects and resources
View the project of a resource
- In the top navigation bar, select the region where your business is located.
- In the function list, find the target function and click its name.
- On the Function settings tab, view the project bound to the function.
Search for resources by project
- In the top navigation bar, select the target region and then select the project as described below.
- Select All account resources to view all resources under the current account.
- Select a specific project to view all resources bound to that project.
- Select Manage projects to go to the project list page to manage projects.
tip
- By default, the system displays all resources under the logged-in Volcano Engine root user.
- If you log in to the console as an IAM user without global permissions, selecting All account resources does not display all resources under the account. To resolve this, switch to a specific project, or contact the Volcano Engine root user for authorization.
