Editing image tag descriptions
CR supports supplementing descriptions for image tags. This topic describes how to edit the description of an image tag.
In actual use, a CR instance often contains a large number of tags, such as "v1.0.0" and "latest". It is difficult to quickly identify the purpose and status of each version based on the tag name only. After adding descriptions to image tags, you can directly view the purpose of each version in the Description column of the image list without pulling images one by one for confirmation. Typical applicable scenarios include:
- Environment distinction: Mark the environment associated with the version, such as production, test, and staging environments.
- Status marking: Mark the release status of the version, such as the stable version or versions that are to be verified or discontinued.
- Change tracing: Record the requirements, owner, or change description of the version for easy team collaboration and tracing.
- A description cannot exceed 255 characters.
- When marking multiple attributes in a description, separate them with English commas (,). Example: prod, stable.
- Log in to the target instance.
- Select the target region in the top navigation bar.
- In the left navigation pane, click Instance list. Select an entry point depending on your instance type:
- Standard instance: Click Standard instance. Find the target instance and click Enter instance.
- Proxy repository: Click Proxy cache. Click the target domain name to enter the instance details page.
- Log in to the OCI artifact overview page.
- In the left navigation bar of the instance page, click OCI artifact repository.
- On the OCI artifact repository page, click the name of the target OCI artifact repository.
- In the Image list, find the target image tag, and click Edit in the Description column.
- Enter the description content in the edit box and click Confirm to complete the operation.
