Upgrading standard instances from Micro Edition to Standard Edition
Micro Edition instances can be upgraded to Standard Edition instances to provide higher performance and SLA guarantees. This topic describes how to convert a Micro Edition instance to a Standard Edition instance.
warning
The Micro Edition supports both intranet and public network access by default, with no additional operation required. For the traffic billing method, see Traffic fee. - During the data synchronization upgrade, operations such as creating/editing/deleting instances, namespaces, and OCI artifact repositories are not supported. Only viewing and pushing/pulling images are supported.
- During the instance configuration change, a brief service interruption may occur, and image pushing or pulling may be unavailable for about 3 to 5 minutes. We recommend performing this operation during off-peak hours.
Please ensure that your Volcano Engine account balance is not less than CNY 10. For details, see Billing center. Procedure
Step 1: Create a Standard Edition instance and synchronize data
- Select the target region in the top navigation bar.
- In the left navigation pane, click Instance list.
- Find the target Micro Edition instance, click ... > Instance configuration change.
- On the instance configuration change page, select the Standard Edition instance.
- View the instance specification comparison and configuration fees. After confirming that everything is correct, click Confirm order.
- On the instance configuration comparison page, view the differences before and after the configuration change, and click Confirm.
- On the Confirm order page, check the order information again, carefully read and check I have read and agree to the Container Registry Service Terms.
- Click Confirm to submit the order and start creating the Standard Edition instance and synchronizing data.
Results
- During instance data synchronization, the instance status is Updating.
- When instance data synchronization is complete, the instance status changes to Waiting.
Step 2: Change instance configuration
- After instance data synchronization is complete, in the target Micro Edition instance section, click Enter instance.
- On the configuration change prompt page, click Confirm to start the instance configuration change.
Results
After the configuration change is complete, the instance specification changes to Standard Edition, and the status changes to Running.
What to do next
- Update network configuration
- After the upgrade, VPC access is enabled by default for Standard Edition instances, and public network access is disabled. If your business needs to push or pull images over the public network, manually enable public network access to avoid affecting your business. For details, see Enabling public network access.
- Confirm domain name configuration
- After the instance is changed to a Standard Edition instance, the domain name remains unchanged and stays as {Instance name}-{Region}.cr.volces.com. You can view the domain name in Domain name management.
