Upgrading proxy cache registries from Micro Edition to Standard Edition
Micro Edition proxy cache registry instances can be upgraded to Standard Edition proxy cache registry instances to provide higher performance and SLA guarantees. This topic describes how to convert a Micro Edition instance to a Standard Edition instance.
warning
The Micro Edition supports both intranet and public network access by default, with no additional operation required. For the traffic billing method, see Traffic fee. After the upgrade, public network access is disabled by default for Standard Edition. You need to complete the instance initialization configuration as prompted.
Prerequisites
Please ensure that your Volcano Engine account balance is not less than CNY 10. For details, see Billing center.
Considerations
  • During the data synchronization upgrade, operations such as creating/editing/deleting instances, namespaces, and OCI artifact repositories are not supported. Only viewing and pulling images from the proxy cache registry are supported.
  • During the instance configuration change, a brief service interruption may occur, and image pulling may be unavailable for about 3 to 5 minutes. We recommend performing this operation during off-peak hours.
Procedure
Step 1: Create a Standard Edition proxy cache registry instance and synchronize data
  1. Log in to the CR console.
  1. Select the target region in the top navigation bar.
  1. In the left navigation pane, click Instance list > Proxy cache.
  1. Find the target Micro Edition instance, click ... > Instance configuration change.
  1. On the instance configuration change page, select the Standard Edition instance.
  1. View the instance specification comparison and configuration fees. After confirming that everything is correct, click Confirm order.
  1. On the Confirm order page, check the order information again, carefully read and check I have read and agree to the Container Registry Service Terms.
  1. Click Confirm to submit the order and start creating the Standard Edition instance and synchronizing data.
Results
When instance data synchronization is complete, the instance status changes to Waiting. You can log in to the instance interface to manually trigger subsequent configuration updates.
Step 2: Instance configuration change
  1. After instance data synchronization is complete, click the name of the target proxy cache registry in the target Micro Edition instance section to go to the proxy cache registry overview page.
  1. On the configuration change prompt page, click Confirm to start the instance configuration change.
Results
After the configuration change is complete, the instance specification changes to Standard Edition, and the status changes to Running.
What to do next
After the change is complete, initialize the proxy cache registry instance, and configure the network, key, and image push/pull addresses and commands. For details, see Initializing instances.
