Package | A build artifact is a binary file compiled from source code, for example, a JAR file in Maven. This product can be used as a dependency by other programs, or can be run directly on the host. A package is the smallest unit that can be used for upload, download, and storage. |
DevOps | DevOps is a software development methodology that includes Dev (developers) and Ops (operations personnel), integrating continuous development, continuous testing, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous monitoring throughout the entire software development lifecycle. Enabling the integration of the IT toolchain during the software product delivery process allows each team to reduce wasted time and collaborate more efficiently. |
Instance | The Container Registry instance serves as the carrier for storing packages and uniquely identifies storage resources. Different Container Registry instances can physically isolate data, and each instance has its own dedicated Registry service, domain name, and backend storage. |
Repository | A repository is the first level of package management under an instance, used to manage different types of repositories and resources. Each instance can create one or more repositories. Different repositories can logically isolate data and allow for different policies to be set. At the repository level, you can define package formats and configure proxy for packages to improve package retrieval speed and compilation efficiency. |
Project | Projects (Groups) are the second level for package management under a repository, and one or more projects can be created under each repository. Different projects can logically isolate artifacts. Projects can have multiple layers, corresponding to Maven's GroupID. |
