Managing warm-up policies
On the image warm-up list page, you can perform operations on existing warm-up policies. For example, you can edit, duplicate, manually trigger, enable or disable, and delete. This topic describes the scenarios, impacts, and procedures for warm-up policy operations.
Prerequisites
An image warm-up policy has been created. For detailed instructions, see Configuring image warm-up.
Edit warm-up policies
You can modify the configuration of a warm-up policy. After modification, the new configuration applies only to subsequently created warm-up tasks and does not affect historical task snapshots. Procedure:
  1. Log in to the target instance.
  1. Log in to the CR console.
  1. Select the target region in the top navigation bar.
  1. In the left navigation pane, Click Instance list > Standard instance. Find the target instance and click Enter instance.
  1. In the left navigation pane, click Distribution acceleration > Image warm-up.
  1. In the warm-up policy list, select the policy to edit and click Edit in the Actions column.
  1. On the Edit page, modify the configuration items except for Instance, and then click Confirm. For detailed configuration instructions, see Configuring image warm-up.
Duplicate warm-up policies
You can quickly create a new policy with an independent ID based on an existing policy for reusing policies in similar scenarios. Procedure:
  1. In the warm-up policy list, select the policy to duplicate and click Copy in the Actions column.
  1. On the Create policy page, the configuration items are prefilled based on the current policy. Adjust them as needed and click Confirm to generate a new policy with an independent ID. For detailed configuration instructions, see Configuring image warm-up.
Manually trigger warm-up tasks
For a warm-up policy whose trigger method is set to Manual trigger, you can create a warm-up task immediately. Procedure:
  1. In the warm-up policy list, select the policy whose trigger method is set to Manual trigger, and click Manual trigger in the Actions column.
  1. In the confirmation dialog box that appears, click Confirm. A warm-up task is created immediately.
Enable or disable warm-up policies
warning
After the policy is disabled, no new warm-up tasks are triggered, and in-progress tasks are not affected.
You can enable or disable existing warm-up policies. Procedure:
  1. In the warm-up policy list, select the policy to enable or disable, and click Enable or Disable in the Actions column.
  1. In the confirmation dialog box that appears, click Confirm to change the policy status.
Delete warm-up policies
warning
  • After the policy is deleted, no new tasks are generated. In-progress tasks are automatically canceled and marked as Cancelled. Historical tasks in terminal states are retained.
  • Deleting a warm-up policy does not change the warm-up toggle status of the target VKE cluster. Image caches that have been warmed up to workload nodes or the central cache are not cleared when the policy is deleted.
You can delete warm-up policies that are no longer needed. Before deletion, the console displays the numbers of historical, pending, and running tasks associated with the policy, so that you can review the impact scope. Procedure:
  1. In the warm-up policy list, select the policy to delete and click Delete in the Actions column.
  1. In the confirmation dialog box that appears, review the impact scope, and then click Delete to complete the deletion.
