3. Chart Operation in Dashboard

A dashboard can be composed of a variety of components, the most crucial of which is the data chart. Charts in the dashboard can also be used for related operations.
The core operations consist of four categories:
(1) Add a comment
(2) Quick inquiry
(3) Chart editing
(4) Other operations, operation button entrance: Hover over the upper right corner of a certain chart, click the "More" button after it appears, and call out the pop-up window
Image
Reminder: For tabular charts, hover over the header cell, and the "Header Sort" and "Freeze" buttons will appear
Image

3.1 Add a comment

After clicking on the comment operator in the upper right corner of a chart, you can open the comment bar on the right, and you can @your colleague's book name in the comment (provided that the Lark integration has been completed) for quick and convenient interaction.
Image

3.2 Quick inquiry

When you want to temporarily modify a chart to filter, change the granularity, modify the aggregation method and other operations for temporary viewing, you can use shortcut queries to operate on the chart. Quick query will only take effect temporarily on the current page and will not affect the original chart. When you refresh the page or re-enter the dashboard, the chart will return to its original state.
Image
Operation steps: Click Quick Query, find the operation item, select the operation you need to perform, and click "Application" to realize the quick query.

  • Supported quick query operations: **** modify filter, add filter, switch chart style, modify date granularity, add dimension, replace dimension, add metric, modify aggregation method, replace metric, drill down
    Image

3.3 Chart editing

For the chart in the dashboard, you can edit it again, and click the edit operator to enter the "visualized query" interface. The follow-up operation is the same as the operation introduction of "visualized query", which will not be repeated in this article.
Image

3.4 Other operations

3.4.1 Export images

Click to download the chart as a picture. (Note: Tabular charts do not have this function.)

3.4.2 Download/copy data

When you download/copy data in the dashboard, the system allows you to select and set the dataset permissions behind whether you want additional validation.
Image

  • If checked, you cannot download/copy data without the data centralization limit behind the chart.
  • If unchecked, you can also copy/download data in the dashboard when you have "View Only" access to the dataset.

For further explanation, see Data Download.

3.4.3 Copy to dashboard

Image
Permission condition description
To complete this operation, you need at least view access to the dataset to which the chart belongs, and edit access to the new dashboard.

3.4.4 New monitoring

Users can click to monitor the dimensional/metric fluctuations of the specified chart. See the setting steps for detailsMonitoring and Alerting.
⚠️Note: Only dashboard charts that meet the following conditions will display the new monitoring entry.

  • Users need to have dashboard viewing and above permissions.
  • Specify that the chart should meet the preconditions required by the monitoring itself: (1) the bottom sheet needs to be updated routinely (2) the date filter needs to be set to recent/recent

3.4.5 Contact Chart Owner

Click "Contact Icon Owner" to see the owner of the chart. You can further contact each other and communicate.

3.5 Form Special Case Description

3.5.1 Form custom field display

  • Usage scenarios: When there are many dimension/metric fields in the table, you can choose to display only the fields of focus; at the same time, when you uncheck an intermediate dimension, you still support clicking on the dimension to expand and view its underlying data, without losing the ability to drill down due to field hiding.
  • How to operate: Click the "Custom Fields" button in the upper right corner of the form and tick the fields you want to display directly in the pop-up box. Unchecked fields (i.e. the middle dimension) will not be displayed directly in the table, but you can still click on the level at which the field is located (the row of the upper dimension displayed in the table) to expand the drop-down to view its underlying data. The table only controls whether the current level is displayed or not, and does not affect drill-down interaction and data query.
