System management, also known as platform management, refers to the global management operations performed by system administrators for the entire DataWind platform. This specifically includes system user management, project management, permission management, data resource management, and so on. The so-called "data resources" in DataWind include projects, users, and data assets (such as data connections, datasets, dashboards, charts, and so on). DataWind provides system administrators with an admin panel, which supports unified management and usage statistics of data resources, making it convenient for system administrators to manage data resources.
This document mainly applies to on-premises deployment scenarios of the DataWind product, guiding system administrators to view relevant control panels and perform rapid problem analysis and resolution.
DataWind provides a user management control panel, which is the interface for managing users and supports operations on users and user groups.
User management: Project administrators can manage users within the project, including adding, deleting, modifying, and viewing users.
User group management: Project administrators can associate system user groups or departments with projects, or customize project-level user groups.
User management permission panel:
The project management control panel provides administrators with a project-oriented interface. Through this management panel, administrators can clearly understand the project attributes and resource overview of each project on the platform, and are allowed to configure projects and so on.
Project attribute information:
Project administrator, project type, project management level, dashboard display rules, dataset display rules
Resource overview:
Number of dashboards, number of datasets, storage size
The permission management control panel enables administrators to grant access to resources (such as datasets, charts, dashboards) to these users or user groups.
Permission management: Can efficiently and quickly manage resource authorization for users and user groups, and perform batch authorization of resources through folders.
Quickly review user permissions: Can view the final permissions a user has on resources and check how these permissions were obtained, making it easy to quickly review permissions.
Individually authorize specific users in a user group: By using the [Group Authorization Exclusion] feature, can individually authorize specific users within a user group. To facilitate authorization and management, a project administrator grants view permissions for 10 dashboards, such as dashboards A, B, and C, to department M. However, there is an intern in department M who should not view the data of dashboard A. In this scenario, the administrator can enable the [Group Authorization Exclusion] feature for the intern on dashboard A and revoke the individual's view permission. This resolves the issue.
