A dataset is the foundation for storing and managing data in DataWind, and also serves as the basis for visual queries and analysis. In simple terms, you can think of it as a type of data table. Users need to create datasets from the data source tables to be analyzed before proceeding with subsequent modeling, creating visualization charts, dashboard creation, and other tasks. In the dataset module, you can create, edit, query, and manage datasets.
After completing Data Connections Overview, users can create datasets. The system supports creating datasets directly from the original table, generating datasets by joining or using union operations on multiple tables, or generating datasets using custom SQL.
As shown in the figure above, the entire dataset interface can be divided into three main modules. In addition, datasets also provide capabilities such as data masking and queue configuration. The documentation for datasets will introduce these modules separately:
Serial number | Module name | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
Module 1 | This is the entry point for creating a new dataset. Users can access the creation interface from here. | |
Module 2 | This is the details page for a single dataset, where you can view detailed configuration information for the dataset, including basic information, detailed data, table structure, synchronization status, and model information. Users can manage datasets here. | |
Module 3 | This is the dataset list, which includes Overview, List, and Recycle Bin. Users can manage the dataset list here. | |
