1. Create a new project
By default, all users can create new projects.
warning
- SaaS environment: Deleting projects is not supported. Users are advised to create new projects with caution. The system administrator can go to "System Management" - "System Settings" and enable "Only the primary account can create projects" under the new project settings. In this case, only the primary account can create projects, and sub-accounts do not have permission to create projects.
- Private environment: Project administrators and system administrators can delete projects in "Management Center" - "Project Management".

2. Project information

See Project Information for details. The following sections provide a detailed explanation of project types and project control levels
Project types
| Usage scenarios | What does it affect? |
|---|
Confidential project | For projects with high permission requirements, where you do not want users from other departments to view the project space. | - Only the project administrator can add members.
- The project can only be found in the project search box by the project administrator.

|
Non-confidential project | The project can be made public within the organization. | Users can search for the project and contact the project administrator to request to join. |
2.1 Project control levels
| Personal dashboard | Personal dashboard | Personal dashboard | Public dashboard | Public dashboard | Public dashboard |
|---|
Control mode | Can create | Who has management permissions | Can the administrator grant permissions to others | Can create | Who has management permissions | Can the administrator grant permissions to others |
Standard mode | ✅ | The creator is the default administrator. | ✅ | ✅ | The creator is the default administrator. | ✅ |
Moderate mode | ✅ | The creator is the default administrator. | ❌ | ✅ | The project administrator is the default administrator, and the creator has edit permissions. | ✅ |
Strict mode | ❌ | -- | ❌ | ✅ | The project administrator is the default administrator, and the creator has edit permissions. | ✅ |
(1) After switching the project control level, the management permissions for newly created resources will be handled according to the new mode. The management permissions for historical resources created before the switch will remain unchanged and will not be updated retroactively. It is recommended not to switch the project control status frequently.
(2) In both moderate and strict modes, the authorization button for personal dashboards is not disabled, but after operations from the administrator or regular user perspective, users will be reminded that authorization is not allowed.

6. Data row and column permissions
6.1 Permission overview
Row and column permission types | Explanation | Settings/configuration affecting permissions |
|---|
Row permissions | Control which rows of a certain field xxx user(s) can or cannot view | - Configuration methods include fixed value and dynamic value
- Fixed value
 - Dynamic value (used with user attributes)

- Blocklist/allowlist configuration—only affects row permissions, not column permissions
- Only effective for row permissions, not for column permissions.
- Off: Only users on the configured list can view the data; the visible range is determined by the configured rules. Users not on any list cannot view any data.
- On: Users on the list are restricted and can only view data within the configured rules. Users not on the list can view all row data.

- And/or rule configuration

|
Column permissions | Restrict viewing of a particular column in the dataset to specified users only. | - Configurable on model (base table) fields / dataset fields
- If a sensitive column field is configured on a model field, all dataset fields derived from that model field will be affected.
- If a sensitive column field is configured on a dataset field, it affects controlled users viewing that dataset field, but does not affect controlled users viewing the corresponding model field.

|
6.2 Pages involving permissions
- Row and column permission configuration entry illustration [visible only to users with manage permissions]

- Row and column permission illustration

- How to determine whether row and column permissions are restricted?
- No row permission illustration
- No column permission / only partial row permission
warning
- Dataset permissions vs row and column permissions
- Does having dataset permissions mean having row and column permissions? No! When row and column permission restrictions are enabled for a dataset, having dataset permissions does not mean data can be viewed; row and column permissions must also be requested.
- Does having row and column permissions mean having dataset permissions? No! To access the visual query page for ad hoc analysis, dataset permissions must still be requested, even with row and column permissions.
- When configuring row and column permissions, use the simulation validation feature to quickly verify whether user permissions are configured correctly!

- Do column permissions affect charting?
For example, in a table chart, if a sensitive column is present in the select clause, it does not affect charting; but if it is present in the group by or where clause, it will affect charting and the chart will not be displayed. Other visualization types may have stricter logic than tables
6.3 How to obtain permissions?
See Getting Started Guide for AdministratorsEnable data row and column permissions.
6.4 Permission simulation verification
When configuring row and column permissions, use the simulation verification feature to quickly verify whether user permissions are configured correctly. For details, see Data Row and Column Permissions.
7. Data connection permissions
New: Except for regular users and users whose project permissions are view-only, all other users can create new data connections
Authorization acquisition method: Resource/project administrators can click "Authorize" in the upper right corner of the data connection

Authorization scope: Authorization can be granted to users or user groups

Permission types | Explanation |
|---|
View | - Allows viewing of the data connection
- Allows selecting this data connection when creating a new dataset
|
Edit | In addition to the above view permission, allows editing the information of the data connection. |
Manage | In addition to the above edit permission, allows modifying the authorization of the data connection. |
8. How to authorize in bulk?
Usernames can be written in a text field, separated by commas, and then users can be added in bulk.
9. What is the purpose of reference permissions?
This is equivalent to copying the user list and corresponding permission settings. For example, if both user A and user B have edit permissions for a dashboard, when assigning this dashboard's permissions to a dataset, you can set user A and user B to have edit permissions for that dataset as well.
