A histogram represents the distribution of data using a series of rectangles or bars of varying heights. In a Cartesian coordinate system, the horizontal axis marks the endpoints of each group, and the vertical axis represents the frequency. The height of each rectangle corresponds to the respective frequency. The product provides a histogram component with multiple configuration options, allowing you to select different display content and histogram types.
Histograms are suitable for displaying two-dimensional datasets, enabling you to identify patterns in the data and intuitively visualize the data distribution.
Histogram example
Step 1: Set dimensions and filter criteria
Select one numerical dimension, such as "Purchase Amount"; filter p_date to the most recent day with data
Step 2: Select the chart panel - Histogram
Step 3: Modify the chart format as needed
Select one numerical dimension and zero metrics
You can set the colors of the bars and lines, as shown below:
It also supports Custom Color Schemes.
For example, if you set the data range to 0-95%, the first 95% of the data is used; if you set the number of bins to 5, there are only 5 groups on the X-axis; if you select the cumulative histogram, both value and proportion are calculated cumulatively, as shown below.
